Perhentian Island - The Food -

Since our package doesn't include all the breakfast/lunch/dinner, we've decided to bring few canned and junk foods from home. There's few restaurants/cafes nearby and they're worth a visit!

This is how 'few' junkies that we brought from home .. :)

Friday

Breakfast : At Kuala Besut jetty. We had our breakfast atthe 'warung' next to the jetty. The food and price is okay. Dont forget to try to speak in their slang! "teh'o' beng ser!"

Lunch : We're still full from our breakfast. So we just had our junk foods.

Dinner : Starving. We had our dinner at Flora Bay restaurant (located next to Fauna Beach Chalet). Price is expensive until you see the food portion. It's reasonable and the taste is good too.

this is basically the price range

Saturday

Breakfast : Had roti kosong a.k.a roti canai at the most end cafe of the beach (not Arwana, but the one that is nearest to the trekking starting site). The roti canai is okay but the dipping sauce (kuah) is really not the taste that I could imagine!. It's super sweet and ughhh. At the end, we asked for sugar, just sugar for dipping. The price ? Not mistaken, RM3 / piece.

Lunch : We didn't have a proper lunch since we're still overwhelmed by the beauty of the corals. Another lunch junkies.

Dinner : Had the BBQ dinner. This includes in our package. Overall, NOT WORTH IT AT ALL. We paid RM40 for a piece of chicken, fish, 2 slices of squid, tasteless fried rice and sunquick for drinks! We could've eaten like kings if we did combine our RM40 than paying for shits like this!.

p/s: Fauna Beach Chalet is a good host but BBQ dinner wise, a BIG NO -NO!

Sunday

Breakfast : Waaaay to busy to pack. Just kidding. :). We've our bread and tuna spread.

Lunch :  This time, we're no longer lunch junkie. Had lunch at Flora Bay Cafe (of course).

Price stated for 4 pax

the lovely businesswoman
Dinner : Bought some fruits before departing from Kuala Besut to Kuala Lumpur.

Perhentian Island - Snorkeling Trip -

Well, the snorkeling mask and gear been giving out the second we checked in; so, we can play around with it first before the real trip. They usually will bring you to snorkel on your 2nd day arrival  Basically, the first day is all fun and leisure. And for four of us. this is the catch up time. No pillow talk, but it's all about the beachy chitchatting. lulz  :D

Snorkeling trip to start at 1000am, Saturday and we're getting ready around 0945am. Just make sure to wear your comfy suit. And for those with hijab, make sure to wear your most comfortable one. You don't want your snorkeling mask to make your hijab a no go.

Once everyone ready, we get into our boat and started the trip. This is your first time? You're not a good swimmer? No worries, they're actually bring us to one of his place to 'warm-up' and get use to it especially in deep water. And yes, life jacket is provided!

We're lucky enough to ride a boat together with Abe Mi. He's a great photographer; and this time, he's shooting underwater. So of course, we're getting free shots during the trip!.

* Tip :Bring along some breads to feed the fish!

* Tip: You can actually rent the underwater camera from respected chalet. Can ask the reception for the rate per hour/day.

* Beachy Tip : Be good to your boatman / snorkel guide! U'll experience more! :)

Perhentian Island - The Arrival -

Perhentian Island, named as one of the most beautiful island in Southeast Asia, and in the world perhaps?
Well, you must think it's gonna cost you A LOT to visit a place like this but NO IT WASN'T. Me and my 3 other girlfriends went there with a really tight budget. Yet, we still enjoyed every seconds we being there.

We went to Perhentian Island under Yaudin's package offered during Malaysian Matta Fair March 2012.
Total package: RM220/pax.

Includes :
- 3D/2N stay at Fauna Beach Chalet (Located at Teluk Dalam, Perhentian Besar).
- Return boat Kuala Besut jetty <-> Fauna Beach Chalet.
- Snorkeling Trip + mask/gears (1x)
- BBQ Dinner (1x)

Excludes :
- Daily Breakfast / Lunch / Dinner.
- Marine Park (RM5/pax)
- Transportation to Kuala Besut Jetty (RM80/pax return bus from Kuala Lumpur)

Went there by bus. Departing from Kuala Lumpur around 10pm and arrived at Kuala Besut around 530am. Kuala Besut Bus Terminal is a walking distance to the jetty. so, no need to get a cab or whatsoever k? And upon arrival, we went to the nearby mosque. to perform the Subuh prayer and to freshen up.Around 730am, we continued our journey to get some breakfast.

*Budget Tip: the price (foods, souvenirs, drinks, junk-foods, almost everything) at the island will be double or triple the price from the mainland. Advisable to buy few mineral waters from the jetty for your daily consumption on the island.. :)

We got into our speedboat at 0930am. For the first timer like us, we screamed all the way everytime the boat hit the waves. It's like riding a roller-coaster yaw!Hahaha. It took almost an hour to arrived at our chalet.

if you're brave enough, no need to wear the life jacket, like this fella!. cool enuff?
almost there baby. *big smile*

Once arrived, we checked in, filled our stuffs inside the room, quick change and boom, straight away went to the beach which is exactly in front of our room. and yes, the beach is undoubtedly extremely beautiful! We booked the non A/C room with 2x queensize beds. NO TV/ NO WIFI. The nightlife here, DEAD! Just enjoy the peaceful and calm sound of the ocean!

*Tip : Only CELCOM line available at Fauna Beach Chalet and nearby areas.
